Having six Certified Farmers' Markets located all over California, Farmer Mark strives to cultivate the best conditions for small farmers to sell the freshest and most nutritious produce direct to the community. The company allows farmers themselves to sell their crops directly to the public. Before a farmer can sell at a Certified Farmers’ Market, a local Agricultural Department agency has to check first to see if the farmers really are the ones growing the produce they are selling. You can be assured, then, that only California-grown produce is allowed in the Certified section of a farmers’ market!
Farmer Mark also loves collaboration. It frequently partners with local restaurants, bars and shops to create specialty dishes and products. Through its Chef to Farmer program, the company also brings together a local chef and a local farmer at one of its markets to expand knowledge on cooking tips and nutritional information.
